Venue & Lodging

The workshop will be held in the Bill and Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science & Engineering in the David & Cathy Habib Classroom. The room has a capacity of 110 with movable tables and chairs and complete A/V facilities.

Participants can choose from single or double dormitory rooms or a variety of nearby hotels. Dormitory rooms are within a 10-minute walk, and hotels are within about a 15-minute walk to the workshop venue. The venue is easily accessed by mobility-impaired attendees as there is good, ADA compliant, bus service at nearby bus stops throughout the University District and directly at the venue.

The Human Resources Center of the University of Washington maintains a list of on-campus and off-campus childcare facilities. This list and other childcare resources are easily accessible by website. Attendees requesting childcare resources will be referred to the website. Two several lactation stations within a 3–5-minute walk from the workshop venue.

Directions

Public Transportation:

Link Light Rail offers an affordable option for transportation directly from the airport to several stops throughout the U-District surrounding the UW Seattle campus. Find more information about public transportation options here

A detailed video for directions to the airport Light Rail station is found here. After purchasing a ticket, board the Light Rail headed to Lynnwood. Get off at the “U District” stop for hotels and campus dorms. The workshop venue is a 17 minute walk from the station.

Taxis & Rideshares:

Taxis and rideshares provide pick ups for travelers on the 3rd floor of the SEA parking garage. Find more information about taxi and rideshare options here

Car Rentals: 

Car rentals are available at an off-site rental car facility. SEA has passenger pick-up areas located outside on the baggage claim level for shuttles, which can transport passengers to the rental car facility. Find more information about car rentals options here

Driving to Seattle

Participants driving to the workshop may purchase a permit to park on campus. Parking may be purchased at an entrance gatehouse or self-serve lots. Find more information about campus parking permits and daily rates here
